Random Fact about Me #3

I am often reluctant to count my chickens even AFTER they've hatched. Let them molt their down, leave off being cute, delicate chicks and become sturdy, stupid, serviceable layers of eggs, and THEN I'll count them. Only then.

Do they flatten out to form the layers of eggs? Now you've scrambled my brain.

You are simply to clever, Dale, and think instantly of words in their many forms; you pun-ish me for seeing only the shell of a word's meaning, not its rich interior. I guess this time, the yolk's on me.

I couldn't resist. But you did spell omigod right. And made me laugh. Which I love. Along with random facts.

Well, one reason you have fucking chickens is so that the eggs they lay are fertile--the unfertilized eggs laid by celibate chickens never hatch (which isn't necessarily a bad thing if you want to eat the eggs). But as I stress in the comments to this post, the eggs and chickens I am discussing here are entirely metaphorical, so whether or not the chickens are fucking is rather beside the point.

You'd think that he'd have more important things on his mind. Like the egg on his face.

I might have egg on my face but that doesn't stop me from ordering the omelette, does it?

I get the metaphor. I take it to the coop. I introduce it to the other metaphors and hope they will all be happy caged together. If these metaphors want to fuck and make more tiny metaphors, which are cute and downy, I will try to resist the urge to count them.

Just so long as you still comment on my blog....because I admit I count blog comments far more readily than I count chickens or eggs.

What order does he want the omelette in? I'm almost chickened out of commenting further but you can count me in.
